SilentWings Provides Unprecendented Technology and Safety Standards
The intended purpose of the SilentWings GmbH is to provide a highly autonomous vertical take-off and landing, fixed wing and long range for easy flight approval for all kind of applications. Using a highly developed safety concept we offer the most secure in our market segment available at the moment. A fuel cell is used as range extender as well as a low structure weight, allowing high payload (up to 10 kg) and long range (up to 700 km).
UAS SilentOne
SilentOne opens the sky for a new kind of autonomous aviation for inspection, surveying and surveillance of large infrastructure. The installed fuel cell enables high range/payload and fast and flexible data-acquisition with heavy sensor systems by using the high energy density of hydrogen.
Applications
With different customers we are planning pilot projects in the next month for the inspection, surveying and surveillance of large infrastructure (Oil and gas pipelines, powerlines, street- and railroad networks, border control). Momentarily these missions are performed solely by manned helicopters.

Fuel Cell Technology
For the power supply of the during cruise flight a fuel cell is used to take advantage of the high energy density of hydrogen. The latest fuel cell technology is applied to power the electric engines and the onboard electronics of the UAS.
Safety Concept and Certification
In accordance with the EASA regulations (947/2019) in Europe the UAS has a sophisticated safety concept. Finally every safety feature available on the market is installed and the safety concept exceeds the required standards.
UAS Operation
At SilentWings we support the customer with all these challenges until the first flight of the UAS and beyond. The service of SilentWings includes supported with documentation, maintenance, service and guidance by our team.
Unique VTOL Method
With the SilentOne UAS a new method (see animated video) for vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) is utilized. Instead of tilting the motors or wings the tail of the UAS is tilted. Tilting the tail has several advantages.
About Us
At the end of 2018 SilentWings GmbH was founded by Dr. Stefan Mändl and TQ Systems GmbH to develop high-end e-VTOL UAS. Together we work on the technical and ecological challenges of the project.
Next Generation of UAS Development
For the serial production of the UAS further improvements on the UAS design are performed. These include improved aerodynamic design enhanced by , weight reduction and an optimized airflow for fuel cell.
